Dunwoody Pres. loves our diverse Dunwoody/Sandy Springs community. As a local church, our main outreach activities to the people and institutions nearby. We also partner with other churches and support local para-church ministries.
Some of the ministries and activities we currently support are:
Local Schools
Local schools are a crossroads of our community, and we want to be a resource and support for children, families, and teachers. We support arts and athletic activities at the local public and private schools. Recently we have provided meals for the Dunwoody High School band, chorus, and theater groups. We also host a tailgate at the Chamblee/Dunwoody football game. At Christmas, we support a Dunwoody High School family in need (as identified by the counseling department). We also encourage involvement in local Moms in Prayer movements.
Elderly and Shut-in
God calls us to “Honor your father and mother,” and we believe this extends to all of those in an older generation who have cared for and supported younger generations. As an “intentionally intergenerational” congregation, we want to honor those who are unable to be with us physically on Sundays. We participate in a live nativity at Dunwoody Pines Retirement Community the weekend before Christmas. We also actively seek ways to help the elderly in our neighborhood communities.
